Scope Definition + Strategic Planning

We help clients through every aspect of planning and occupancy of a new environment to ensure its success. We can help establish or re-define relocation and construction processes for our clients. Our process documentation can help clients respond to growth and change more effectively, especially in areas with fast growing organizations. When related to system development, the activities in this phase will define the scope of activities and provide the necessary elements to model the system.

The intervention at the start of the development and commissioning phases of a project can ensure us that the resulting design and space fulfill the user’s perceived needs. This is what we call the scope definition and strategic briefing, which applies to all kinds of projects, including those that transform space. The occupancy of space is a complex issue that is undergoing major changes, as a result of changes in work and life modes. This is reflected in all scales, from the building to the built environment.

In order to meet the user’s requirements in the design, the briefing process includes several activities, ranging from pre-occupancy observations of spatial usage over time to post occupancy change management of working practices, involving elements of workplace strategy, building appraisal, real estate options, trends and changing habits. This will result in the specification of design requirements.

With these design requirements, the Facility Consulting Design Team can develop a detailed design solution. If the client already has a designer or architect working for him, he can use this information to conclude the project, if so desired. The main objective of the briefing is to come up with a solution, based on the defined scope that will enhance the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness, by focusing on key areas of clients’ needs.
