We had been developing some options for the expansion of the CMG Wireless Data Solutions offices in São Paulo, when we were called to take care of the merger of the office, after the merger of CMG and Logica was completed. This required a transformation and remodeling of the existing Logica office in São Paulo, preserving the established identity and standards, but adapting them to the new requirements of the new merged Company. Instead of redesigning everything, we just adapted the existing area in order to have a more cost effective project and smaller lead times. The existing space plan was adapted to the new company?s structure and infrastructure had to be expanded. The most delicate part of the operation was enlarging the data center, increasing infrastructure and transferring all servers, both Company and client servers that worked on a 24 x 365 basis. We had a period of a few hours to shut down all servers, transfer them between buildings, reconnect and have them fully operational again by 6 am the following morning. Considering the fact that the company was fully operational while the office was being changed, this was a major challenge. Work was done at night and during weekends, and the final turnaround of the data center was done in the last weekend in a total of 4. The project was considered a huge success because everything went according to schedule and within budget. This office occupies 750 square meters in a modern ?Triple A? office building in São Paulo.
